Adventures of Pep & Fresh.

The American Cancer Society wanted an engaging program that would make an impression on 1-3 grade kids about the dangers of using tobacco. Blue Moon created a colorful tale about two kids and a quirky Professor who helps them discover the dangers of smoking. The program addresses the key concerns about cigarettes and smokeless tobacco. The audience learns that tobacco is a plant that is grown and harvested by farmers, that cigarettes contain more than 4,000 chemicals, and that tobacco is addictive. It stresses self responsibility for one's own health and stresses the positive choices kids can make in regard to their health as it relates to tobacco.

Hepatitis C:  The silent epidemic.

A quiet epidemic is unfolding. Currently, an estimated four million Americans have hepatitis C (HCV) - a blood born virus for which there is no known cure and no vaccination - yet are unaware that they carry the disease. This video explores every aspect of HCV: diagnosis, symptoms, treatment and its side effects, and lifestyle issues specific to people in recovery from chemical addiction. All information is delivered through the testimony of a renowned hepatologist and five individuals who are currently living with HCV. Education is urgently needed to help stem the spread of this virus and to save the lives of those who are infected.

Continuing the Path...: Follow-up to a pap test.

Clinicians, health educators, community health representatives, and others can use this video to encourage Native American women to seek follow-up care after an abnormal Pap test and to explain the colposcopy procedure.

Continuing the Path depicts a realistic story of busy Native American women and the issues that often keep them from continuing their care—fears, delaying care for themselves, myths, health care provider gender, and lack of support. The video includes information on risk factors, protective behaviors, and the colposcopy procedure. It also models healthy client/provider interaction.

Our Voices.

Our Voices is an educational program for non-native health care providers to help them to be more culturally sensitive when treating Native American clients. The program features first-person testimonials of Native American women and health care providers describing their experiences. The program opens and closes with a beautiful hand-painted animation sequence that combines poetry, singing, music, and sounds.

Living with HIV: One person's journey.

This 50 minute video is a presentation given by Frank P. Lamendola to hospice and HIV/AIDS caregivers. His experiences of both being a nurse and living with HIV/AIDS bring a unique perspective to the topic. Frank discusses the ever changing daily physical symptoms that make for a creative tension and challenge between living fully in the moment and being ready to die at any time. The video is a beautiful blend of wisdom, humor, stories and tears that puts words and meaning on the uncertainty and suffering, the awe and mystery that is life. It touches the heart of people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses as well as their caregivers.
