This multi tape Drugs of Addiction series creatively blends image, sound, music and personal stories with the advice of medical experts. The audience gets both important factual information and a sense of solidarity and hope from the personal stories. Recovering addicts, a treatment psychologist, and a physician speak candidly about the causes and effects of addiction and the challenges of recovery. Several musical and performance artists were featured in the videos. A drummer captures the frenetic feeling of meth addiction in his playing. The music of a blues guitar player fills the "Alcohol" video with the sounds of alienation and denial. The erratic and frantic motion of dance offers a physical manifestation to the intangible reaction of the brain to Crack/Cocaine. All of the videos end with a positive message of hope which is beneficial to any person in any stage of recovery.
